Catherine Walker TEP

Head of the Private Client Department and Executive Head of the Residential and Commercial Property Department. Catherine is a Chartered Legal Executive. Catherine has a well established reputation with her clients and peers following over 20 years’ experience in practising private client law. Catherine is a full Member of Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the sub-Mental Capacity Special Interest Group within STEP. She is also a fully accredited Member of Solicitors for the Elderly and is a Member of both the Law Society Private Client Section and Court of Protection Users Group.

Catherine can assist in all areas of private client law including Wills, probate, trusts, estate administration, tax planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection.


Jayne Sullivan

Jayne is Head of Litigation and head of the Child Care Department. Jayne grew up in the Mansfield area, she attended school locally and then moved on to take her degree and diploma at Nottingham Trent University. Qualifying as a Solicitor in 1999. Jayne specialises in Public Law Care proceedings and complicated Children Act proceedings,  and is also on the Children Panel.  Jayne conducts the majority of her own advocacy arising from her case, which provides continuity and an all-round service. Jayne is a member of Resolution and has additional specialist accreditation in the area of Complex Financial matters arising from divorce and the breakdown of relationships and also Domestic Abuse.

Jayne also oversees our Civil Litigation department. Jayne became a Partner in 2018.


Elizabeth Isola

Elizabeth joined the firm in 2018 as a Solicitor in the Litigation department specialising in Civil Litigation, and Employment and Family Law. Elizabeth has a double diploma in French and English Law as well as a Masters in European Business Law. Having worked for an international firm in Paris, ranking in the top 5 Legal 500 in International Arbitration, she has moved back to Nottingham to be closer to family. She has a wide range of knowledge in domestic and international litigation and we are delighted that she is now a much valued member of our team.

Elizabeth is also fluent in French and Yoruba.

In her spare time she enjoys travelling and socialising with family and friends.


Samantha Sanders

Samantha is a partner and head of the family department and has over 25 years’ experience in private family matters. She advises and represents her clients in all areas of family law including divorce, financial proceedings and private children applications.

Her vast experience and passion in this legal area enables her to provide a sensitive and understanding approach for all her clients and we are excited to have her be part of our firm.

Outside of work Samantha enjoys walking in the Derbyshire Dales, quality time with her family and practicing yoga and pilates.



Nevil Edmund Croston

Solicitor and former head of the firms civil litigation department. With more than 40 years litigation experience, Nevil offers practical and professional advice on employment law, personal injury, partnership and company formations and dissolution, drafting of commercial contracts and grants and contentious probate. Nevil is a member of the association of personal injury lawyers and an accredited civil mediator. Nevil is married with two adult children. Outside of work Nevil enjoys all outdoor pursuits including mountaineering, cycling, walking and taking skiing holidays.


Sara Desforges

Sara originally joined the firm in 2005 qualifying as a Solicitor with us in 2007 specialising in Private Client work. Sara now acts as a consultant to the firm providing advice to our clients in relation to Wills, Asset Protection Planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney, Estate and Trust Administration.

Sara is a lecturer at a local University teaching future Solicitors in the UK and Attorneys on an international basis. Sara has a current research focus on coercive control and the significance of Will making in the exertion of economic abuse.


Melissa Holland

Head of the Residential and Commercial Property Department.

Melissa joined us in 2019 as a Commercial Property Solicitor, having obtained several years of valuable experience in this department and having completed her training contract with another firm. Melissa has experience of both Commercial and Residential conveyancing. Melissa joins our growing property team and has brought a new dynamic to the department!

In her spare time she enjoys cooking and socialising with friends and family.


Carol Parker

Carol qualified as a Solicitor in January 2007 and has since then gained experience in both Commercial and Residential property transactions. She joins and enhances our fabulous residential team, working alongside the vastly experienced Janet Godfrey.

Outside of work Carol enjoys spending time with her young son. She also enjoys walking her dog, cycling and is a keen gardener.


Lauren Griffiths

Lauren initially joined the firm in 2002 and after gaining invaluable experience in practice went on to study and qualify as a Legal Executive in 2012 and then as a Solicitor in 2016.

Lauren is now an Associate Solicitor in our private client department and has a wealth of experience and knowledge in Will drafting, obtaining Probate, estate administration, drafting and advising on Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work and estate and inheritance tax planning.  Lauren is experienced in assisting clients with a broad range of legal issues and takes a friendly, proactive approach.

In her spare time Lauren enjoys holidays and spending time with her family, including her two young children.

Adam Mikula

Adam qualified as a Solicitor in February 2021 and has recently joined our Litigation/disputes team. He attained his undergraduate degree in 2015 and afterwards completed his postgraduate studies whilst working as a Paralegal.

Adam is a member of the Nottinghamshire Junior Lawyers Division and likes to spend his spare time reading and walking his dog.



Janet Godfrey

Janet originally joined the firm in 2007 as a Conveyancer having spent the previous eighteen years working in Residential Conveyancing. She specialises in the buying and selling of properties particularly in the local area where she has considerable knowledge.

Her spare time is spent walking in the countryside with her faithful dog.


Helen Foster

We are extremely pleased to welcome Helen and her team to join forces with our existing Residential Conveyancing Department. Helen has worked as a Residential Fee Earner for some 30 years and has a wealth of local knowledge and experience. She is highly regarded by both clients and agents.

Outside of work Helen enjoys spending time with her Partner, Family and Friends and especially her grandson Billy.


Lynne Lawson

Lynne started her legal career at the age of 16 working as a receptionist at a small Ashfield law firm. She progressed to running on her own case load of conveyancing files and now has in excess of 30 years’ experience in handling all aspects of residential conveyancing

In her free time Lynne likes spending time with her family and reading.



Becky Collier-Anstey

Becky joined the firm in 2005 and has since become an Affiliate of the Institute of Legal Executives. Becky specialises in Family Law and has a particular interest in children act proceedings, divorce and financial matters; although she assists in all areas of family work. Becky lives locally and enjoys socialising with family and friends in her spare time.


Grace Webster

Grace has joined us as a paralegal in the Private Client department predominantly focusing on Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorneys. She graduated in 2020 from Manchester Law School after studying her LLB Law degree. During her studies, she undertook work experience at Bryan and Armstrong in her second year summer holidays, shadowing a varied amount of departments. She is now studying for her Masters in Law, reading the modules international human rights, medical law and ethics, international criminal law and Techno-ethics in law.

In her spare time, Grace enjoys walking, travelling and concerts.


Lauren Hall

Lauren Joined the Firm in 2021 as a trainee paralegal working alongside and supporting senior members of the department, predominantly with matters relating to Wills, Lasting Powers of Attorney and Administration of Estates.

Lauren is Local to Mansfield and completed her A-levels at West Nottinghamshire College, studying Law, Psychology and Sociology. Lauren Obtained a First-class honours degree in Child and Family Welfare studies, focusing on the legal aspects of family life and childhood and then went on to complete her master’s in psychology. Whilst at university Lauren made easy to read guides simplifying Laws and policies to make them accessible to individuals who struggled to understand the complex terminology.

Lauren provides a friendly, professional, and efficient service to clients and is striving to undertake training to work towards becoming a Legal professional.

Outside of work Lauren enjoys spending time with her friends and family, Travelling and being active.


Rebecca Thompson

We are pleased that Rebecca has chosen to join us in our residential property department. She has successfully completed her LLB Law Degree at the University of Derby and is currently undertaking her LPC with Masters at Nottingham Trent University. She is a very welcome edition to our thriving team.

In her spare time, she enjoys landscape photography and going for hikes with her family and dog.

Jodie Holmes

Jodie joined the firm in 2019 having previously worked for a local insurance company dealing with travel insurance claims.

She currently works in the litigation department assisting in all areas of dispute resolution. She specifically handles employment tribunal claims, residential landlord and tenant disputes, change of name deeds as well as low level personal injury claims.

Jodie is also an Affiliate Member of the National Association of Licensed Paralegals. In her spare time Jodie enjoys music festivals, tattoo art and home DIY.
