THE PARTNERS
Catherine Walker TEP
Catherine is a Partner, Chartered Legal Executive, Head of the Private Client Department and Head of the Residential and Commercial Property Departments. Catherine has a well established reputation with her clients and peers following over 20 years’ experience in practising private client law. Catherine is a full member of The Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and the sub-Mental Capacity Special Interest Group within STEP. She is also a fully accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers and sits on the Nottinghamshire Law Society Private Client Committee.
Catherine can assist in all areas of private client law including Wills, Probate, trusts, estate administration, tax planning, Lasting Powers of Attorney and applications to the Court of Protection.
In her spare time Catherine enjoys reading, spending time with her family and walking with her dog.
Jayne Sullivan
Jayne is a Partner, Solicitor and Head of the Care Department and Complex Children matters. Jayne grew up in the Mansfield area and obtained her law degree Nottingham Trent University. Jayne qualified as a Solicitor in 1999 and now specialises in both family and civil litigation, care proceedings (including complex cases), and is also on the Children Panel. Where possible Jayne conducts her own advocacy which provides continuity, and a personalised service for clients.
Jayne has completed specialist advocacy and vulnerable adults training, which entitles her to act as a Qualified Legal Representative (QLR) appointed by the court to conduct cross examination where the parties are acting in person and are prohibited from cross examining each other.
Jayne is a member of Resolution and has an additional specialist accreditation to deal with complex financial matters arising from divorce and the breakdown of relationships, and domestic abuse.
In her spare time Jayne enjoys spending time with family and friends and horse riding.
Elizabeth Isola
Elizabeth is a Solicitor and Head of our Dispute Resolution Department, having joined the firm in 2018. Elizabeth specialises in civil litigation, and employment and family law. Elizabeth has a double diploma in French and English law as well as a Masters in European Business Law. Having previously worked for an international firm in Paris, Elizabeth returned to Nottingham to be closer to family. She has a wide range of knowledge in domestic and international litigation.
Elizabeth is fluent in French and Yoruba.
In her spare time she enjoys travelling, socialising with family and friends and spending time with her two young children.
Samantha Sanders
Samantha is a Solicitor, Partner and Head of the Family Department. She has over 25 years’ experience in private family matters and advises and represents her clients in all areas of family law, including divorce, separation, financial proceedings and private children applications.
Samantha’s vast experience and passion enables her to provide a sensitive and understanding approach for all her client.
In her spare time Samantha enjoys walking in the Derbyshire Dales, spending quality time with her family and keeping fit.
Lauren Griffiths
Lauren is a Partner and Solicitor within our Private Client department after initially joining the firm in 2002. After gaining invaluable experience in practice she went on to study and qualify as a Legal Executive in 2012, and then as a Solicitor in 2016.
Lauren has a wealth of experience and knowledge in Will drafting, obtaining Probate, estate administration, drafting and advising on Powers of Attorney, Court of Protection work, trust advice and estate and inheritance tax planning. Lauren is experienced in assisting clients with a broad range of legal issues and takes a friendly, proactive and efficient approach. Lauren is a fully accredited member of The Association of Lifetime Lawyers and is a member of the Nottinghamshire Law Society Council.
In her spare time Lauren enjoys holidays and spending time with her husband and two young children.
SOLICITORS
Rebecca Thompson
Rebecca is a Solicitor in our Residential Property Department following successful completion of her training to become a Solicitor in 2024. Rebecca completed her law degree at the University of Derby and the Legal Practice Couse with Masters at Nottingham Trent University.
Rebecca can assist with all aspects of residential property work including sales and purchases, re-mortgages and transfers.
In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys landscape photography, quizzes and going for hikes with her family and dog.
Holly Whitehall
Holly is a solicitor within our Family Department and Dispute Resolution Department. Holly successfully completed her law degree at Nottingham Trent University in 2022 and went on to complete her Legal Practice Course with Masters at the end of 2024. Holly has successfully completed her training contact with us and qualified as a solicitor in July 2026.
In her spare time Holly enjoys theatre productions (having been a dancer growing up) as well as travelling, socialising, and spending time with her family.
Kira Butler
Kira is a solicitor within our Residential and Commercial Property Departments having joined the firm as a paralegal. Kira graduated in 2023 with a First Class Honours in law from Nottingham Trent University and has continued her studies to complete the Legal Practice Course. Kira completed her Masters in law in December 2024, Kira has successfully completed her training contact with us and qualified as a solicitor in July 2026.
Kira can assist with residential property sales and purchases and representing clients in commercial property transactions alongside her colleagues.
In her spare time Kira enjoys holidays and spending time with friends and family.
TRAINEE SOLICITORS
Marykate Walker
Marykate is a Trainee Solicitor within the Private Client Department. She first joined the firm in 2018 for work experience and this continued whilst she studied history and politics at the University of Sheffield. Marykate has undertaken the first stage of the Solicitors Qualifying Exam and will qualify as a Solicitor in 2026 after completion of the further training requirements.
Marykate can provide assistance with drafting Wills and Lasting Powers of Attorney and will continue to expand her specialism as her training develops.
In her spare time Marykate enjoys reading and spending time with friends and family.
CONVEYANCING EXECUTIVES
Janet Godfrey
Janet is a Property Executive within the Residential Property Team having originally joined the firm in 2007. Janet has over 35 years’ experience as a residential conveyancer specialising in all aspects of buying and selling property. Janet has many longstanding clients owing to her years in practice and is able to utilise her extensive knowledge of the local area.
In her spare time Janet can be found taking trips with her caravan, walking in the countryside and spending time caring for her animals.
Helen Foster
Helen is a Property Executive within the Residential Property Department. Helen has years of experience in practice and has a wealth of local knowledge and experience. She is highly regarded by both clients and agents and can assist in all areas of property work.
In her spare time Helen enjoys spending time with her friends and family, including her grandson.
Claire Townroe
Claire is a Chartered Legal Executive within the Residential Property Department and joined the firm in 2026. Claire specialises in all aspects of residential conveyancing and qualified as a Chartered Legal Executive in 2007. She advises clients on matters such as residential sales, purchases (freehold, leasehold, registered and unregistered), remortgages, transfer of equity, Local Authority right to buy and new build purchases.
Claire appreciates that the conveyancing process can be stressful to clients and strives to ensure that she provides excellent communication, support and advice throughout the transaction.
In her spare time, Claire enjoys holidays (especially cruise holidays) and spending time with family and friends.
PARALEGALS
Becky Collier-Anstey
Becky is a Paralegal in the Litigation Department. She joined the firm in 2005 and has since become an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives. Becky specialises in family law and has a particular interest in children act proceedings, divorce and financial matters, although she assists in all areas of civil dispute resolution and family work.
In her spare time Becky enjoys spending time with her two young sons and following their football teams.
Farah Hussain
Farah has recently joined the firm as a paralegal in the residential property department. Farah completed her LLB Law and Criminology degree in 2024 from the University of Sheffield and is aiming to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE route.
Outside of work, she enjoys reading and spending time with family.
Megan Jones
Megan has recently joined the firm as a paralegal in the Dispute Resolution Department. Megan completed her LLB Law degree in 2025 from the University of Liverpool and is aiming to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE route.
Outside of work, she enjoys travelling and spending time with friends and family.
Fern Clifford
Fern has recently joined the firm as a paralegal in the private client department. Fern completed her LLB Law degree at Sheffield Hallam University in 2026 and is aiming to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE route.
In her spare time Fern enjoys travelling, walking in the Peak District and outdoor
swimming.
Chloe Hickey
Chloe is a paralegal within our Property Department assisting with residential and commercial transactions. Chloe successfully completed her law degree in 2024 at the University of Lincoln and is aiming to qualify as a solicitor. In her spare time Chloe enjoys travelling, reading, and visiting museums and galleries.
Adam Wright
Adam has recently joined the firm as a paralegal in the residential property department. Adam completed his BA (Hons) in Criminology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2024 before going on to complete an MA Law (Conversion) course at The University of Law. Adam aims to qualify as a solicitor through the SQE route.
In his spare time, Adam enjoys travelling, spending time with his friends and family, and walking his dog, Alfie.
APPRENTICE SOLICITOR
Matthew McAllister
Matthew is an Apprentice Solicitor in the Family and Dispute Resolution Department, having joined the firm in 2023 as a paralegal. Following his graduation from Nottingham Trent University Matthew spent some time in the insurance industry which provided him with valuable skills and knowledge to carry forward into his career as a Solicitor. Matthew is due to qualify in 2026.
Matthew can provide assistance with family and litigation matters alongside his colleagues.
In his spare time Matthew enjoys playing badminton and football, as well as spending time with friends and family and attending music festivals.
